This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the Point Pickup End User License Agreement (EULA) & Terms of Service. The term “Point Pickup,” “we,” and “us” includes Point Pickup Technologies, Inc. and our affiliates and subsidiaries. The Privacy Policy explains how Point Pickup may:
collect,
use, and
disclose
information we obtain through the “Service.”
The “Service” means any website, mobile application, or Internet service under the control of Point Pickup Technologies, Inc., whether partial or otherwise, in connection with providing an online platform for Point Pickup’s services. Any capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning set forth in the EULA & Terms of Service.
White-Label Service. We may provide the Service as a white-label service to our partners. In this situation, our privacy practices may be controlled by the contract we have with a partner and such partner’s privacy policy. If you have questions about our partner’s privacy practices, we will refer you to our partner.
“Personal Information” can be used to readily identify, contact, or locate you. |
“Personal Information” means information that alone or when in combination with other information may be used to readily identify, contact, or locate you, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number. We do not consider Personal Information to include information that has been anonymized so that it does not allow a third party to easily identify a specific individual.
THE SERVICE COLLECTS YOUR INFORMATION
We collect Personal Information when you:
We collect and store geo-location from the devices of Delivery Providers, but not Customers. We also collect information, such as anonymous usage statistics, by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technology as you use the Service. |
Registration and Account Information. You may access the Website without creating an account, but you must register to use the Service as either a Delivery Provider or Customer. All users must provide Personal Information to create an account, such as name, email address, password, and telephone number. To register as a Delivery Provider, you may need to provide other Personal Information, such as your address, birth date, bank account information, and photograph. To register as a Customer, you may need to provide Personal Information, such as your address. You may also provide other optional information.
Background Checks of Delivery Providers. We collect certain Personal Information, such as drivers’ license numbers, a photograph of drivers’ licenses, and social security numbers, so that we can request background check reports about individuals who apply to be Delivery Providers. Our background check service providers will provide us with background check information about such individuals. We will use such report information only for the purposes of assessing whether to permit an individual to act as a Delivery Provider and to comply with applicable law.
Social Connect. When you choose to connect your social media account to your Service profile, we collect Personal Information from that social media website. For example, when you connect your Facebook account, we may collect the Personal Information you have made publicly available in Facebook, such as your name and profile picture. We may also obtain other non-public information from the social network website with your permission.
Using the Service. We collect the information you provide through the Service. For example, when you request a Job as a Customer or agree to pick up and deliver Items as a Delivery Provider, the Service will collect the information involved in such actions, including any Personal Information, such as addresses, telephone numbers, and comments or communications between Users.
About Consumers From Merchants. If a Merchant uses the Service to create a Job, the Merchant may provide Personal Information about Consumers, such as their name, address, and telephone number, to the Service to facilitate the Job.
Referrals. A User may submit Personal Information, such as an email address, about others to us so that the User can recommend the Service to them. We use the information to send a communication to the individual and then delete the information.
Location Information from Delivery Providers’ Mobile Devices. We may collect and store geo-location information from the devices used by Delivery Providers. For example, we may collect and store geo-location during the time periods they have designated they are available for Jobs and as part of their performance of a Job. Location information is collected for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, which may include suggesting Jobs to the Delivery Provider, providing Job status updates to the Merchant and Consumer, improving the provision of the Service, and for insurance coverage purposes.
Delivery Providers may at any time prohibit the Service from collecting location information by turning this feature off on the mobile device, but the Service likely will not permit the Delivery Providers to perform any Jobs if it does not have access to geo-location information. As a Delivery Provider, you expressly consent to our use of location-based services, and you expressly waive and release us from any and all liability, claims, causes of action or damages arising from your use of the Service, or in any way relating to the use of the geo-location and other location-based services.
Location Information from Customers’ Mobile Devices. We do not collect and store geo-location from the devices used by Customers. However, the Service may use a Customer’s geo-location information to provide services, such as for displaying a Customer’s current location on a map or suggesting or validating addresses that a Customer uses to request a Job. The geo-location information will not be transmitted to our servers, but we may collect and store the address information as part of providing the Service. When a Delivery Provider has arrived at the delivery Destination, we may learn of a Consumer’s GPS coordinates through the Delivery Provider’s mobile device.
Making or Receiving Payments. When you make or receive payments through the Service, you may need to provide financial account information, such as your credit card number or bank account number, to our third-party service providers. We do not collect or store such information, though we may receive summary information about a transaction that does not include credit card or bank account numbers.
Customer Support. We may collect Personal Information through your communications with our customer-support team.
Cookies, Automatic Data Collection, and Related Technologies. The Service collects and stores information that is generated automatically as you use it, including your preferences and anonymous usage statistics. When we associate such information with Personal Information, we will treat the combination as Personal Information.
When you use the Service, we and our third-party partners, such as advertising networks, social widgets, and analytics providers, use “cookies” and other similar technologies to collect information about how the Service is used and about the devices used to access the Service. Our partners also may collect information about your online activities over time and on other websites or apps. When our third-party partners provide such features, they are governed by the privacy policies of the organizations providing them. You may be able to change browser or app settings to block and delete cookies and other technologies when you access the Service. However, if you do that, the Service may not work properly.
By using the Service, you are authorizing us to gather, parse, and retain data related to the provision of the Service.
